I bought this simply because my wife's computer crashed and was replaced. Her new machine does not have IDE interfaces so I needed a way to read her data from her old tough disk. This enclosure was effortless to use. It is nicely built and solved ny predicament effortlessly. A week later my computer's OS was corrupted. I was time constrained and so I removed the difficult disk and took benefit of this device again. This time it was a SATA drive. I was in a position torecover my files effortlessly and have them backed up so that when I recover my OS, my documents will be retained. In the past I would have had to open up one more Pc and install the drive to be recovered. Now this can be completed with significantly much less work. This device has turned out to be a especially helpful tool. It has currently paid for itself in recovering what otherwise would have been lost time and resources. The capability to perform with both the older IDE (ATA) drives and the newer SATA drives tends to make this really useful. This device will reside in my toolbox till I will need it again.
