Purchased this enclosure to use an 80GB Sata HDD that I replaced. The port operates fine, and as far as I can tell, temperature is not terrible. The item did not contain, however, the tiny screws that are supposed to go into the leading of the mount. Without having these, the HDD can just slide out of the aluminum casing. It is not a show stopper, considering that a piece of electrical tape works just fine, it is just that the item need to come with every thing required to use it effectively. You get what you spend for...

I bought this enclosure to recover data from a laptop. Installation is effortless. The interface adapter from the old laptop hard drive has to be removed ahead of connecting to the circuit board. I was able to copy the information from the challenging drive the moment the enclosure was plugged in. There was no try to mount the tricky drive on the enclosure with the two modest screws. Will this enclosure last? I have no thought and it does not matter. All I know is that I paid $7.80 for this enclosure and it worked properly sufficient to recover information from a dead laptop. The item gets a 5 star rating for a information recovery job achieved.
